DEVI buses in Delhi: what they are, routes and fares

Updated · 4 min read · Figures from Delhi’s Open Transit Data, imported 18 July 2026

DEVI stands for Delhi Electric Vehicle Interconnector: smaller electric AC buses, introduced in 2025, that connect colonies and villages to metro stations and main roads. Fares were reported at ₹10 to ₹25, and women ride free with the Pink Saheli Smart Card.

What a DEVI bus is

DEVI buses are shorter than regular DTC buses so they can get into narrow colony roads where a 12-metre bus cannot go. They are fully electric and air-conditioned. The idea was first planned as the “Mohalla bus” scheme and launched under the DEVI name in 2025. Launch reports described about 23 seats per bus, six of them reserved for women, plus standing space.

Fares

Launch reports put DEVI fares at ₹10 to ₹25 by distance, the AC fare range used on other AC buses. Women, girls and transgender residents of Delhi with a Pink Saheli Smart Card travel free. Check the fare stage with the conductor; DTC publishes the official route and fare-stage list on its services page.

Routes

Most DEVI routes are short feeders: from a cluster of colonies or villages to the nearest metro station or bus terminal. Many outer routes carry codes in a separate series from regular DTC numbers. Because routes were still being added through 2026, use DTC’s current DEVI route list for the latest set.

For the main city network, every DTC and cluster route in the open data is on our routes list, and you can plan a trip between any two stops.
