How to find the right Delhi bus stop and direction
Updated · 6 min read · Figures from Delhi’s Open Transit Data, imported 18 July 2026
The right Delhi bus stop is not always the one with the most familiar name. Check the stop code, map position, route direction and destination before you board.
Find a stop by name
Use the Delhi bus stops directory or the site search. Stop pages list route numbers, where each route is heading, nearby stops and the stop’s map location.
Why the same stop name can appear twice
The public feed can contain separate stop records for opposite sides of a road, separate bays or nearby boarding points. BusPe keeps those records separate so route direction and live-stop information are not merged into a misleading result.
A quick boarding check
- Match the stop name and stop code on the BusPe page to the sign or map around you.
- Check the route’s destination board, not only its route number.
- Open the route page and confirm your destination appears later in that direction’s stop list.
- If the route offers live positions, use the live panel as a current signal—not a guaranteed arrival clock.
Nearby stops and interchanges
A nearby stop may be more useful for the return direction or a connecting route. BusPe calculates nearby stops from the coordinates in the current feed and links each one to its own route list.
Use stops with the trip planner
When you know both boarding and destination stops, open the Delhi bus trip planner. It uses the selected stop records rather than guessing from neighbourhood names.
Quick answers
Why are there two Delhi bus stops with the same name?
The feed may record separate stops on opposite sides of a road, at different bays or at nearby boarding points. Check the stop code and map location.
How do I know which way the bus is going?
Check the destination shown for the route direction and compare the ordered stop list on the route page.
Does a live bus panel show an exact arrival time?
No. It shows reported buses and stops away when available; it does not turn incomplete live data into a guessed ETA.
